Morgan had to employ some nontraditional methods—such as a hammer hoe to chip away rock and a telebelt to assist in getting materials to areas where traditional equipment was unable to reach—in an effort to counter the difficulties that arose from both winter conditions and the steep and rocky terrain. That flexibility and willingness to explore different options ultimately ensured that Morgan was able to keep to and even exceed the owner’s scheduling requirements.
