Thomas Morgan founded Morgan Asphalt in 1996 with the purpose of efficiently delivering high quality projects. The company’s first year’s revenue was achieved through numerous parking lot, driveway and maintenance projects. Today, the company constructs full infrastructure projects that include excavation, grading, dry utility installation and paving.

Under Thom’s guidance, the company has an expansive client list comprised of both public and private sectors. Thom considers his biggest accomplishment with Morgan Asphalt is the development of a quality, energetic team of professionals. His can-do attitude to projects is conveyed throughout the company. Customers frequently hire Morgan again and again for their proficient approach to the work.

Matt Morgan

President

Matt’s primary focus is the client and how Morgan Asphalt can improve the quality and experience of each project. He approaches his work knowing his name and family’s reputation is on the line. This approach embodies hard work, accountability, high standards and a belief that the customer is the core of the business.

Matt is a man of his word. Customers and employees know that he will do what he says and lead in a manner embodied in integrity and honesty. As President of Morgan Asphalt, Matt is involved in managing the day-to-day operations of the company, including all business sectors of company finances, office management, equipment and project management. His overriding objectives are to encourage clear team communications, promote team work and support everyone working toward the common goal of growing a successful company.

Jake Ward

Safety Manager

Simply stated, Jake’s job is to ensure that every Morgan employee returns home safely to their family, friends and loved ones every day. To accomplish this, Jake spends his time motivating people to work safely, implementing effective policies, conducting site inspections and steering the company towards a culture of safety. Jake’s experience working for the last two decades with large general contractors on high-profile, iconic projects has armed him with the ability to effectively connect with field workers in a very personal way. By gaining the employees’ trust and respect, Jake can implement positive changes and break through the management/field barrier to make progress in the overall safety of the company.

Evan Stewart

Materials Manager

Evan’s role as materials manager may be new for Morgan Asphalt, but he has been with the company for many years now. He first started at Morgan in 2005 as a laborer and served as the transportation manager for many years but has been serving in his current role since 2018. As materials manager, Evan is responsible for all materials coming from Morgan’s hot plant in Magna and aggregate pit in Grantsville. Evan’s focus on quality and his attention to detail ensure that Morgan’s customers are getting the exact materials they need to successfully complete their jobs. His dedication to his job and the Morgan team is indicative of the culture Morgan has internally.

Mike Davis

Transportation Manager

Mike’s position as transportation manager is vital to Morgan Asphalt. He manages a team that supports all the trucks and drivers that get our materials to the right projects. He truly cares about each transportation team member and believes the secret to doing a great job is building a great team. Communication is key for him, and he’s dedicated to ensuring everyone on his team is trained and has what they need to succeed. Having been with Morgan since 2012, Mike loves being a part of the team and has enjoyed being involved in the recent growth of the company. Everyone that works with Mike know he always gets the job done, no matter what.

Taylor Weaver

Estimating Manager

Taylor brings a wealth of field experience to his job as estimator and project manager. His in-depth understanding gives him the ability to approach each project with a thorough knowledge of how the job will be built with an accurate schedule and budget. His insight and attention to detail give each client and job the proper respect and consideration they deserve. Taylor joined Morgan in 2013 as a water truck driver and was a paving and milling superintendent before transitioning to his current role. As superintendent, he coordinated the construction crews, project schedule and daily material orders for more than 150 projects per year.

Nick Mecham

Senior Estimator

Nick approaches his job with the belief that the complexities of the construction world are most efficiently approached through quality communication, hard work and follow through. He has a passion for complex, challenging and innovative projects and has extensive real-world experience in the business, project management, sales, operations and estimating realms of the construction industry. Since joining the Morgan team in 2023, Nick has effectively demonstrated his ability to approach all projects with a positive “can-do” attitude and understand not only the overarching view of the project, but also the details that make all the difference.

Spencer Parkinson

Business Development Manager

As Business Development Manager, Spencer listens closely to what each client is saying so that he can ensure that Morgan’s customers are receiving the type of work and service they want and deserve. Spencer joined Morgan in 2017 and immediately embraced the values and great staff of the family-run company. He finds his job of business development easy due to his enthusiasm for the Morgan way of doing business – doing the job well the first time. Spencer’s belief in treating everyone well and fairly has contributed greatly in his ability to open doors and meet new clients. He is well respected not only by Morgan’s customers but also by the estimators/project managers and superintendents.

Dan Frost

Project Manager

Dan believes in supporting the customer and his team in the highest quality project delivery. During the 2023 construction season, Dan accepted a new role with Morgan as a Project Manager. .As a man on the job, Dan has risen through the ranks of the construction industry and is very experienced in safety related issues, site conditions, types of equipment and project costing. He understands many of the issues that can be encountered on projects and prepares beforehand for any contingencies that may occur.
